Our History

Over 25 years ago, the New Brunswick Mutuals, Carleton Mutual, Fundy Mutual, Stanley Mutual, and SouthEastern Mutual Insurance companies created United General Insurance Corporation. Those companies have a long history of providing property, farm, and commercial insurance to customers in New Brunswick. They recognized the need for auto insurance for their clients. With the formation of United General Insurance Corporation, it enabled them to offer auto insurance protection to their property clients.

United General Insurance Corporation was the first and only New Brunswick-owned automobile insurance company. The first policy was issued in 1993 to a family in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick.
